I believe the wheel that they are refering to is the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20766. This has the same 8 on 6-1/2" lug pattern that the 1953 Chevrolet Advance Design Trucks had. This wheel is only 16" in diameter where the originals were either 17" or 18". The Dexstar 15" Conventional Steel Wheel, # AM20514, are basically the same wheels that were used on vintage 1940's and 1950's trucks and people quite often use them on vintage trucks today, but we do not recommend using them on trucks that see regular public road use.

I spoke with my contact at Dexstar and they informed me that you should have no trouble using the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel part # AM20766 with a tire tube. This wheel has a black powder coated finish for rust resistance and is made of a high quality steel right here in the U.S.A. It is 16" diameter x 6" wide and has a 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern.

I went out to the warehouse and got the measurements for you on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # 13430 which has been made for the 1997-2006 Wranglers. To the inside of the upright brackets it measures 42 3/4" To the outside if them it measures 43 3/8".

I do have a solution, but there are no custom-fit bolt-on hitches for your 1952 Chevy 3100. What you can use is a universal hitch like the # 41990-07. This has a 2" receiver and comes with 7" brackets. You will need to take it to a certified welder for installation. This has a high capacity as a Class V hitch but you will be limited by the capacity of your vehicle. The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel 16" 8 Lug part # AM20766 is only offered with an offset, +.5" to be exact. The majority of the conventional style that accept the baby moon hubcaps part # PX1309SS have an offset.
